Pet Visits
Pet Visits for People in Treatment Centers and Shelters
PAWsitive Recovery facilitates “in treatment” pet visits to keep patients encouraged and motivated. When a person cares for and interacts with an animal, they feel purpose and responsibility. Having animal interactions in treatment facilities lifts the mood of patients and staff members.

Dogs can spark pleasurable memories of childhood and adult life experiences. They hold no judgment and offer unconditional love. A dog will gladly display affection and adoration to their human companions, despite their past or problems with addiction. They reduce stress, anxiety, and loneliness. A pet owner knows the enormous joy and comfort that an animal can provide, especially in troubled times.
Most pets are considered essential members of the family and irreplaceable companions. PAWsitive Recovery believes that the human-animal bond is crucial to healing and growth. Animal visits give patients hope, encouragement, and something to look forward to while in treatment.
